Field Trips and Outreach Programming

Mindful Yoga

In order to promote an active and healthy classroom we will be contracting with Maura Fox to teach mindful yoga to the children here at Teddy Bear. Mindful yoga helps children relax, self-regulate, pay better attention, and balance their emotions; all while building physical strength and flexibility. The program is based on five key components: connect, breathe, move, focus, and relax.

Maura Fox has been in the field of education for over 30 years. She has experience with students on the autism spectrum, ADHD and executive function disorders as well as language/ learning/ reading disabilities. As a Certified Mindfulness Educator, she has taught mindfulness to school students K-12, and educators, parents and adults.

The Child Care Network Literacy Program

Activities will include the sharing of story books, story reenactments by children, music, poems and other special project ideas intended to promote the development of social/emotional skills. Handouts will be given with additional literacy ideas and activities to strengthen social and emotional learning.
